The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Dev Diary Continues Focus on Engine; Requirements Detailed
Each time I see The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, I get a little more excited for the final product. The newest dev diary for the upcoming CD Projeckt sequel does not disappoint. In part two of i
Utilizing the PathEngine's advanced path finding system, Havok's popular physics engine, FMOD's audio management structure, and Scaleforms's ability to make solid user-interfaces, The Witcher 2 seems to be built on a solid--and widely used--development foundation. Originally, I was a little worried, as some Eastern European games are known (but still adored) for janky design decisions. (Sup, Metro 2033?).
Later in the trailer, the development team details the minimum system requirements for the upcoming sequel:
- Minimum System Requirements: "Required for fluid operation of the game"
- Dual Core 2.2 GHz Processor
- 1 GB RAM (Windows XP), 2 GB RAM (Vista/Windows 7)
- GeForce 8800 512 MB (Similar ATI Minimum)
After being delayed, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is now expected to arrive in May 2011 for the PC. Pre-orders are available on multiple digital distribution sites, including the CD Projekt-owned DRM-free, retro gaming site Good Old Games.

im still half on, half off about this. i know a few people who loved the first one but i tried it for an hour or two and the combat sort of pissed me off somehow, from what ive heard and read i think this might have the same sort of thing going on. anyone know if its going to be pretty similar (im guessing yes obviously). anyone else know for sure or have any links that might illuminate?

I'm assuming the combat will be the same since I haven't read otherwise. The combat from the first game was an acquired taste to say the least. When I played as well I despised it for a while but once I learned exactly how it worked it was a lot easier and wasn't as bad. It's really all about timing instead of just mashing buttons like most games.

yeah good game tbh, will it have the same sort of fluidity and animations though do you think? i cant really remember how it felt when i tried the first one all that well tbh. actually with all the writing i've spammed here i might have to buy it just to save myself from wasting the time ive spent discussing it and thinking about it lol.
