Rift Trailer Promises "Polished at Launch" MMORPG
by Brian Leahy, Dec 03, 2010 2:00pm PSTThis new trailer for Trion Worlds' upcoming "complete" MMORPG Rift, which the developers promise will be "polished at launch" and "advance the genre the day it ships," is full of bold claims.
The trailer opens with some testimonials from members various guilds that have been playing the game talking about how awesome it is, which is followed up by some voiceover detailing what you can expect from Rift.
Time will tell if the game will be a hit, but it looks like it has a good foundation. If you're more curious, you can read my preview from when I saw a build back in October.

All that rift stuff just sounds like a funky way of saying "respawning enemies."

Still looks like any other MMO mechanics, with nicer graphics.
The good:
It looks way better than that Star Wars game coming out.
These rifts open up spawning random bad guys on random parts of the world, you kill stuff. But I didn't really get what the bigger picture was. Are there quests other than just finding rifts and killing things?
After the live demo I left their booth feeling, meh.
It is a pretty game though.
I'm a little puzzled that I have never heard of it before though... obviously I need to pay better attention.
