Shack PSA: Thanksgiving Day PC Games Sales

16
As we prepare for the inevitable super-mega-turbo sales blowout tomorrow, Black Friday, here's the state of discounted digitally-distibuted PC games today.

Today, there's a decent set of deals with something for everyone at a decent price, from World of Warcraft and Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition to Left 4 Dead 2 and AudioSurf. Tomorrow, things explode. Here's our pick of today's crop:

Steam (ends at 10am PST on Friday)

Another fresh daily round of deals, complete with more bumper bargain gift packs.

Impulse GamersGate Blizzard Direct2Drive

Until December 31, D2D is offering to match any lower price offered by Gamestop.com, GamersGate or Steam on digitally-distributed games. If they're selling the game cheaper on the day that you buy it from D2D, they'll give you the difference in store credit. Naturally, terms and conditions apply.

Furthermore, promotion where one in five orders will be completely free. Try your luck!

Positech Games

  • Winter Bundle (KUdos, Democracy, Starship Tycoon, Planetary Defence, Rock Legend) - $5.99
Green Man Gaming

As well as a small sale, Green Man is running a 'Try and Trade' promotion which'll let you rent the full versions of a small selection of titles for only $1 each all weekend. Buy the full game, play it then trade it back in before midnight on Sunday for $1 less than you paid in store credit.

The sale:

Global Agenda Plus 25% off all Global Agenda boosters.

PopCap

50% off all downloadable PC games, excluding game packs and bundles.

Matrix Games (ends at midnight on January 10, 2011)

25-40% off dozens of games.

Telltale Games (ends on Sunday, November 28 at 11:59pm PST)

To kick off its 30 Days of Telltale promotion, Telltale Games has knocked 50% off almost everything in the Telltale Store.

Come back tomorrow for more!

Batman's worth it. It doesn't even seem to require a supercomputer to look reasonably great. If your computer's not great, you definitely want to turn off ambient occlusion and for some reason on my 9800, it recommended I leave that on.

Which I doubt would turn out well.

... Because the alternative is to not play it at all and miss out on an immensely satisfying single player experience?
