Bethesda Reveals More on First Fallout: New Vegas DLC, 'Dead Money'
by Xav de Matos, Nov 22, 2010 12:20pm PSTIn the latest Bethesda Newsletter, the publisher revealed a few more details on the first downloadable content for Obsidian's Fallout: New Vegas, dubbed "Dead Money".
While we already knew the content would take players on a hunt for the "legendary treasure of Sierra Madre Casino, senior designer Chris Avellone revealed that the casino was once billed as an "opulent and extravagant resort that was supposed to be the greatest casino in the west." Sadly, it never opened as the bombs fell before the ribbon could be cut. Now, "frozen in time," the Sierra Madre Casino is surrounded by a lethal cloud of toxins where few have attempted to explore.
As the Fallout: New Vegas hero, "The Courier" is lured to the mythical city of gold by a faint radio broadcast announcing its grand opening. Here, the hero of the Western Wastes will come across the only survivors of the area: the Ghost People.
In Dead Money, players will meet new characters, deal with the Ghost People, and contend with the casino's "substantial defense systems." Just another day in the wasteland. Dead Money launches "exclusively" for the Xbox 360 on December 21 for 800MS Points ($10).
