The Hip Hop culture and movies have made a huge impact in his life, and to his work. Beta is also an avid gamer. "Never Get 2 See U Again" is a collaboration between Beta and his brother Brandon Menace (who is currently in the military stationed in Japan). As far as "some degree of realism in my games" however, perhaps we should take a closer look at many of the games we play. For the sake of gameplay, realism generally goes out the window. I think we pick and choose where we want realism and overlook the rest. Things like respawning, spawn points, more kills = better weapons, healing in seconds, little or no smoke affecting visibility, hitting reload before the magazine is empty, the ability to hear all teammates clearly during a battle, closed maps, and cover placed for gameplay not realism. I look out my apartment window and I don't see any "crouch-friendly" cover at street level.
Personally, it is the escape from any "degree of realism" that I enjoy about games. Actually, to contradict myself, I am a real simulation nut. Flight Sim, Ship Sim, Train Sim are all pretty cool for me but boring for many people. Perhaps that is one of the problems for game companies. The closer you get to a real simulation, the more you end up focusing on a small hardcore audience.
The Ghost Recon series is probably the most realistic game I have played of the more popular military combat titles but it is not a mainstream FPS. It is more of a tactical shooter (I guess?). Every game has its ridiculous elements though.
