Mortal Kombat Trailer Features the Chillingly Devastating Moves of Sub-Zero

Since we first went hands-on with NetherRealm's Mortal Kombat, we've been looking forward to seeing (and playing) more.

While the last Mortal Kombat retail release was tamer than we're used to--and for good reason, you can't rip out Superman's spine--the next installment returns players to the brutal fun many of us grew up with.

In the newest trailer for the game, we get a longer look at Sub-Zero's plethora of damage-dealing moves. As explained in the trailer, the Sub-Zero featured in Mortal Kombat is actually the brother of the original, who seeks vengeance for his death.

Mortal Kombat is coming to the Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2011.

This is a MUST BUY! on day 1... Street Fighter has nothing on Mortal Kombat. The way that the guy freezes is truly awesome. I love it where he never let the opponent hit the ground! lol...

Now all I can say after this is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Those combos look ridiculous, its really going to be a matter of time before someone figures out a 100% combo. That being said, the games looks perfectly paced, brutal and very fast. Can't wait!

Looks great. For some reason I was a little disappointed with the "owie" sounds of the opponents. I just remember laughing my ass off at the almost clownish screams of pain from a good uppercut in the original. "AwwwhaaauahahhhhH!"

This game actually seems more suited to fully 3d graphics than Street Fighter. SF looks awesome in 3d.. but this seems like more of an upgrade from the 2d digitized look of the old games.. than from old SF to SFIV. It looks really nice and fast and brutal.
