LittleBigPlanet 2 Demo, Beta Expansion, and Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves December-Bound

1
A trio of LittleBigAnnouncements for the month of December have dropped via developer Media Molecule on PlayStation.Blog. The last month of 2010 will see a "Story Mode" demo for the upcoming LittleBigPlanet 2, an expansion of the LBP2 beta, and a downloadable multiplayer-only expansion for the original LittleBigPlanet that requires PlayStation Move.

The LittleBigPlanet expansion, called Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves, will have players taking on tasks assigned by Terrance Dactyl in a "brand new 10 level theme dominated by dinosaurs, where the Evil Big Rex is king." In this cooperative expansion, the player using the PlayStation Move controller will be able to do things like manipulate portions of the environment and flip switches to assist the other DualShock-using players.

Prehistoric Moves won't require the original LittleBigPlanet to play, and will be included on the LittleBigPlanet 2 disc when the game ships on January 18. Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves will be available on December 7 for PlayStation Plus members for free, and from the PlayStation Store on December 14 for $5.99 for everyone else. However, the blog notes, "as an extra 'thank you,' thousands of LittleBigPlanet supporters will receive Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves for free; stay tuned for more details as we get closer to December 7."

The LittleBigPlanet 2 "Story Mode" demo will arrive on the PlayStation Network in December, giving folks a chance to get their mitts on the game's brand new creation tools and the touted new "Grapple Hook."

Media Molecule also gives word that they'll be expanding the LittleBigPlanet 2 beta in "early December," for "PlayStation Plus subscribers, more community contributors," and giveaway winners. The exact date is still TBD.

Awesome. This is probably #1 on my list. Plus with keyboard and mouse support for the creation side of things, I feel like creating stuff won't be such a pain anymore.
