Deus Ex: Human Revolution Gameplay Trailer Showcases Adam Jensen's Survival Skills
by Xav de Matos, Nov 18, 2010 6:00pm PSTEidos Montreal has released a new trailer for its upcoming--and first--title, Deus Ex: Human Revolution. In the game, players take on the role of a security specialist named Adam Jensen, who after a brutal attack from an enemy force, is outfitted with newly-designed augmentations in order to ensure his survival.
In the trailer, we get a taste of what Jensen does to survive: mix stealth and raw power to unlock the secrets of being totally badass.
Before I jumped to Shacknews, I visited the Eidos Montreal studio to take a look at Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Even then I was impressed and the game continues to look better.
Here's hoping that the game can live up to its name and make gamers forget that--for the first time--Warren Spector isn't involved with the franchise. Deus Ex: Human Revolution hits the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2011.

I grew up on consoles. Some of my favorite games are on consoles. But I've eventually moved from consoles to PC games. Understandably, many people went the other way.
I'm not sure if they were deliberately showing weapon switching for the trailer or if it was by accident, but there were a lot of menu navigation.
UI is the only thing I am complaining about because it's really the only thing shown. There's very slight showing of anything else. As I'm unsure of Eidos Montreal's UI design abilities, after the UI abomination of at least two final fantasy pc games by Square. Plus, this being developed for consoles as well, I have very little confident that Square is going to do any better this time around as well. Call me a pessimist.
I'm not saying the original game had a perfect interface, either. Most games will have something wrong with their interface. However, there's a point where the interface becomes intolerable (like Alpha protocol), and my first reaction is "uuughhhh /frown face." It's not like I'm actively looking for bad things to pick out (from a trailer no less). It's just my initial reaction to what's given. Given me something better and I'll react better.
