Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Launches on Feb. 15; Shuma-Gorath and Jill Valentine DLC Planned

Capcom has revealed that its upcoming crossover fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, will launch on February 15, 2011.

Additionally, the company dropped some information on a Special Edition for the game, which is set to include free access to two downloadable characters: Resident Evil's "master of unlocking" Jill Valentine and Marvel's immortal, all-seeing-eye Shumna-Gorath. The content will be available four weeks after the game has launched.

Earlier today, GameStop jumped the gun and revealed the Special Edition along with the game's (now official) release date. Minutes before our post regarding the leak was set to go live, Capcom made the official announcement in a press release.

Presumably, the DLC will be made available for a price, to those who opt to purchase the standard edition. Shacknews has contacted Capcom for clarification. The Special Edition also includes an exclusive comic that introduces players to the rivalry between the Marvel and Capcom universes, an art book, and a one-month subscription to Marvel's digital comics service, all of which is housed in a steelbook case featuring "exclusive artwork."

For those addicted to pre-order bonuses, GameStop is offering a series of 5"x7" flash cards featuring roster information and character move-lists. They're like individual pages of another artbook!
