    This will only happen if the bandwidth is the same or better. If not there will always be an argument for dedicated faster RAM.

    Not for a long time. Any new technology will be expensive and take a long time to become as cheap per GB as magnetic disk.

  There's an article every month about how cool physics thing X could make computers a million times faster. I have, as of yet, to see any of these things in a product and it's been about 6 years since I became aware of this shit.
  
  Let's just hope some memristor stuff starts to come out in two years.
