Baldur's Gate 2 Complete Released on GOG

Given that Baldur's Gate was the first game Good Old Games released when the digital distributor relaunched, following its fake closure publicity stunt, it's no surprise that Baldur's Gate 2 has now been added to GOG's catalogue but it certainly is welcome.

Priced at $9.99, the Baldur's Gate 2 Complete bundle offers BioWare's much-loved RPG as well as its expansion pack 'Throne of Bhaal,' the soundtrack, wallpapers and other digital goodies. As with all GOG releases, it comes DRM-free.

OK, now that this happened we should have a discussion about Mods. Coincidentally, I almost reinstalled this game off disc yesterday but spent too long reading about the mods and ran out of time to play.

Are the mods good or bad?

Which ones should be installed?

Who knows about these things, and will share with us.

Between GoG's more-than-reasonable prices and Steam's amazing holiday sales I must have bought 100 games in the last 2 years...and I don't think I've spent more than $300, certainly not more than $500. Trouble is I'll never play them all to completion. Hell, I probably won't play most of them for more than a an hour or two but at $3 a game it's a cheap addiction.

If you have the original Baldur's Gate as well as this, it's worth installing the Baldur's Gate Trilogy mod from Spellhold Studios that allows you to play the entire saga in the BG2 engine: http://www.spellholdstudios.net/ie/bgt

There's a few more interesting mods there too if you browse around!

How long is this one compared to BG1? I played through BG1 around 2001-ish and I remember it being crazy long. I was even unemployed at the time and it still took forever.
