Rumor: Sledgehammer's Call of Duty Takes Place in Space, Future
by Brian Leahy, Nov 09, 2010 4:30pm PSTWe already knew Sledgehammer Games was working on a Call of Duty title for Activision, but details have been light. When will it take place?
In a Gamasutra report, Chris Morris explains that "industry sources say Sledgehammer's Call of Duty will be set in the future and feature, for lack of a better term, space Marines, a very big step for a franchise that has historically based itself on realism."
Originally announced as an action-adventure title, the Sledgehammer game will be a first-person shooter in the franchise according to its website. Whatever the game is, Activision will be investing heavily in it and other Call of Duty titles, according to statements made on its most recent earnings call.
Sledgehammer Games is run by Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey, who both left Electronic Arts and Visceral Games to form Sledgehammer for Activision.

I loved MW on PC, after the neutered version of MW2 on PC I briefly tried it out on 360, only to discover Call Of Duty has officially taken Halo's role as the worst, most obnoxious, and annoying online community comprised of 95% 13-17 year olds that have fouler mouths than anyone I've ever met and constantly talk about raping panda bears or other things.
Will be passing on Black Ops and Space Ops, and the next 15 versions of this game until they get it right on PC again.
