Activision's Social Media Manager Wants Bugs in Call of Duty: Black Ops Reported; Asks for Civility
by Xav de Matos, Nov 09, 2010 11:50am PSTDan "One of Swords" Amrich recommends keeping a level head in the face of any issues you may encounter during your experience with Call of Duty: Black Ops. We think that's some sound advice after witnessing the horror of some owners during last night's midnight launch.
On his blog, Activision's social media manager suggested that any real-world problems--disc not reading, missing components--be reported on the Activision customer support page.
For in-game issues, specifically finding or encountering bugs within the game, Amrich recommends posting a detailed account of the errors on the official Call of Duty message board.
Of course, Amrich recommends being polite when reporting issues. Other than being the civilized thing to do, it makes it easier to pinpoint the problems. "Insults in all caps might make you feel better, but it makes it tougher to get to the useful stuff," Amrich notes. It's a great point and we certainly hope the gaming world will take heed.

CoD1 and CoD4 were the ONLY standout titles of the series. The rest = $$ power cash cow, hence why I haven't bought any "modern" shooter titles since CoD4. The whole thing is just tiresome. Theres only so many times I can shoot a "generic middle eastern militant" in the face with a generic bland plot forcing me on.
Not to mention that I'm always gonna be playing "Sergeant Chad Dudewell from Dallas, Texas" who's just an all round awesome American doing the right thing and fighting for his country (for country read oil supply) under the big ol' flag of the US of A. Because we all know that only America has ever been involved in any conflict since the 1930's right? Hopefully I've laced this with enough sarcasm that I needn't continue down this road, you get where I'm going.
Where is the imagination? Surely these big companies have enough cash to invest in some creativity instead of just religiously pumping out a shitty franchised WW2 or Modern shooter every 2 years.
I mean there was more creativity and soul in Machinarium than MW2 and WaW put together. Probably wouldn't be too much of a stretch to include this latest "cinematic epic masterpiece" (gimme a break, lol) in that too.
Roll on Deux Ex : Human Evolution or Bioshock : Infinite or even Crysis 2. The only shooters worth looking at these days are ones with imagination.
