While it was first revealed in 2009, Metal Gear Solid Rising may not see life on store shelves until 2012, if a report on Kotaku proves true.

Citing an unnamed source, Kotaku reports that the upcoming game in the famed series--this time an action title, starring the character Raiden--will launch in 2012. Although a release window was never officially revealed, some had hoped for a 2011 release. However, history tells us that Metal Gear Solid titles are often the subject of a few delays.

Gameplay for the title was first revealed during Microsoft's E3 2010 media briefing, featuring intense sword combat where Raiden would slice and dice his adversaries, the world around him, and rabble-rousing fruit.

Shacknews has contacted Konami for comment regarding the report but has yet to hear back at the time of publishing.

Raiden was the weakest character in the series. Why would we want to revisit HIS emo-ass?

Weakest? He had one game of the series devoted to himself and made a pretty big appearence in 4.
Id say he is the third or fourth strongest character in the game next to Snake, Ocelot and Otacon

Presence on screen != strength of character

This is exactly what I was referring to.

I don't think he's that great of a character either, and typifies a lot of anime stereotypes that I have come to loathe. But hey, if CUT BIG does it for you then its your money.

total stereotype. One of the many reasons to hate.
