Fallout: New Vegas Ships Five Million Units, Patches Incoming

[Update] The story has been clarified to reflect that the $300 million figure is potential revenue, not earned revenue.

[Original Story] Bethesda has announced that Fallout: New Vegas has shipped five million units worldwide and though it did not disclose how many of those were actually sold, it points out that these 5 million copies could earn the company $300 million.

Digital downloads are included in that five million, but it isn't known how many of these copies were digital PC sales versus retail boxes for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. Shacknews has asked Bethesda for more information on the breakdown.

Additionally, Bethesda is "currently running final testing and certification on a comprehensive patch for all three platforms," which should be released in the "coming weeks." The company has solved the Xbox 360 save issue and some other issues.

An incremental PC patch should be available early next week, however, with fixes for "save corruption issues and problems with companions, as well as improve performance for NVIDIA users and resolve some issues reported with Havok."

    $300M in revenue is ridiculous.

If only because retailers *don't pay $59.99 wholesale for games*!

I'm not quite sure where that number came from at all, especially considering that these are units shipped and not sold. I didn't know that you could count something as revenue before it's sold.
