Windows Phone 7 Launches Today in North America with Xbox Live Support

With Windows Phone 7 devices on sale in the US and Canada, buyers will now be able to log on to Xbox Live on the go, padding his or her Gamerscore with achievements from downloadable games.

Existing Xbox Live users can link their Gamertag to their new device for some extra features including

  • Avatars. Take your 3-D Avatar and props with you on the phone with full closet access.
  • Friends. Bring your Xbox LIVE friends with you everywhere; see who's online and what your friends are doing on their consoles, PCs or phones.
  • Achievements. Compare achievements with anybody on your Friends List.
  • Messaging. Communicate with anyone in the Xbox LIVE community through Xbox LIVE text messages.
As for games, all AT&T customers will get "ilomilo" for free to kick-start the mobile gaming action. Additionally, all games with Xbox Live support will have free demos, mirroring the policy of Xbox Live Arcade.

    I loved windows phone look so much...... i would love to have it....... :))
    I have even downloaded and applied windows theme to my desktop......

      I don't see how people can like the new Windows mobile layout. The fonts drive me nuts. All different sizes, out of frame, off center and loosely placed all over the screen. Some are across multiple screens just to say "GAMES" . What a horrible way to display data on a small screen.

        people have different opinions. For example, I love the look. Much better than the grid of desktop icons like on the iphone.

        To be honest, it looks like a visual design student was allowed free reign over an entire operating system. Still, overly stylish doesn't necessarily mean bad. I haven't used it, so I'm not sure.
