Shack PSA: Weekend eSports Line-Up

9
This weekend, MLG will be broadcasting its 2010 Pro Circuit finals from Dallas, Texas. The events will be streamed for free at MLGPro.com, though an enhanced HD stream is available for $10.

The games being played at MLG are Halo 3, StarCraft II, Halo: Reach, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and Tekken 6. A full schedule of events is available here.

On the Halo 3 and Halo: Reach side--if you can get over the sheer amount "bro"-ness--you'll see some amazing games. If you've never watched professional Halo, do yourself a favor and tune in for a little bit. MLG does a great job of following the action and explaining the tactics being used.

As for StarCraft II, there will be some top players from around the world competing at MLG Dallas with some casting from J.P. McDaniel, Day9, and DJ Wheat. If Korean StarCraft is more your speed, you've got a week to catch up in the GSL2 before the finals, which take place on November 13. Additionally, there are many more online events happening this weekend, which are indexed here.

Finally, there will be a ton of fighting game action at SoCal Regionals, which will be streaming all weekend with matches of Super Street Fighter IV, Tekken 6, BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Super Street Fighter II Turbo: HD Remix, Street Fighter III: Third Strike, and Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

If you know of any other eSports events this weekend, please let us know in the comments.

Is this going to be a regular feature or just an occasional thing?

Yea I wouldn't do the results but definitely doing something like this before each event would do wonders for the scene.

Yeah, I dig it. I follow GSL hard, but I might have forgotten MLG Dallas, and the SoCal regionals I definitely would have missed . I love watching competitive SSF4 also!

But yeah, results would be bad. Watching GSL live is pretty hard if you're in NA and employed.
