Too few titles take place in the middle ages, we always say, and apparently Atlus agrees as the publisher has announced The Cursed Crusade, a new title set at the end of the 12th century for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

Developed by French studio Kylotonn--co-dev of 2002's Iron Storm--the third-person title follows two "cursed warriors," Denz and Esteban, "fighting to save their souls."

Saving your soul won't be a lonely affair, thankfully, as The Cursed Crusade features two-player, online and split-screen, co-op. The press release notes that the two characters "are not heroes," simply two men trying to save themselves from the dreaded "Templar's Curse" that burns their humanity away.

Burns their humanity away? There probably isn't an ointment for that.

Yummy! I love Atlus and am so glad they are getting in on the "modern" platform, which seems to be the PC/Xbox/PS3 simul release.

    Very pumped for this!
