  Raggh, you missed the five dollar sale a bit ago. Whatever, you still need to go buy it now. Yes it holds up, and yes it's one of the best games you'll ever play. Go buy it on Steam, while it's downloading go through this short article and do what it says http://kentie.net/article/dxguide/ boot up and enjoy.
