Hulu Plus PS3 Opening to All Next Week
Costing $9.99 per month, a Hulu Plus subscription lets you stream "more than 200 seasons and 2,400 episodes" of current and classic television shows, from America's Funniest Home Videos to American Gothic. Unfortunately, it's currently available only in the USA.
Hulu Plus is slated to launch on Xbox 360 in "early 2011," where it will further require an Xbox Live Gold membership. It's also already available on iOS devices and due to hit a variety of television models, set-top boxes, Blu-Ray players and other doohickeys.
Hulu Plus on PS3 is currently limited to an invitation-only beta which also required a PlayStation Plus subscription. Until next week, that is.

I just browsed through the list. Nothing interesting. I'm sure there's a couple novelty shows, but nothing to go out of your way for. I killed off cable and netflix instant and whatever streams online seems to keep me going just fine.

Obviously YMMV but we just dropped cable in favor of Netflix and Hulu Plus. Netflix has streaming movies and past TV seasons. Hulu Plus has a *much* better interface, and has a lot of current TV shows so we can keep up on House, Glee, The Office, etc. The thing I currently find a bit odd is that there is content on Hulu that is not available in the Hulu Plus app, such as Fringe.

I'm the same kind of situation. It's all delayed viewing via DVR, DVD or streaming (just started catching up on Eureka this week even though I saw all of last season via DVR).
I still think on-demand subscription, ala Netflix, is what will win the war. It'll never kill broadcast (OTA, cable, sat, etc.) since News, weather, sports, major events, etc have to be viewed in real-time. But, even those kinds of things are being streamed more and more.
I'll also say that *IF* Netflix ever killed sat and cable then its subscription price would triple the next day. NOT because Netflix was the only game in town, but because the studios would have lost other sources of constant revenue (most are paid per subscriber from TWC, DirecTv, etc.). The studios would simply need to make that revenue back somehow.

What about quality? Ive seen theres 2 tiers of "HD" that Hulu plus has. Im trying to convince the wife to cut the cable myself.
