Rumor: Ignition Florida Shutting Down
by Alice O'Connor, Nov 04, 2010 7:00am PDTRumours are circulating that there's more trouble afoot at Ignition, with Gamasutra reporting that the developer and publisher's Florida studio has been shut down .
Ignition Entertainment has told Gamasutra that it "will make an official news release regarding the studio soon." It also says "we are continuing the Florida Studio's project," the 2009-due shooter Reich, "but refocusing it in the right direction."
An anonymous e-mail to GamesIndustry.biz claimed that members of Ignition's corporate office came into the studio with police officers and "asked the 70 members of staff including the GM and executive producer to pack up their stuff and go home."
This comes less than a fortnight after Ignition London's WarDevil was cancelled, having been in development for five years, and the studio repurposed to focus on digital distribution and publishing--with layoffs of around thirty rumoured.
