If you've picked a bit of a daft name for yourself in StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty, you'll be delighted to hear that Blizzard has granted all accounts one free name change.

To change your name in the real-time strategy sequel, you''ll need to log into Battle.net Account Management, click the 'Character Name Change' button on the game license screen then log into StarCraft 2 to choose your new moniker.

This time, you might want to think twice before dedicating your account name to the latest hot Internet meme, your l33t clan or your current sweetheart. In fact, don't show any passion about anything at all because really, what's the point? Just give up!

So when will Steam follow? I picked a steam login almost a decade ago in a rush just to play some CS at a lan party. It haunts me to this day!

  I feel the same way. When steam was first launched, I was only like 14. Now I'm 20 and I look at my steam name and wonder why I thought it was a good name.
