Rock Band 3 Stringed Pro Guitar Dated, Priced

3
Fender has revealed the release date and price of its fully-stringed, Rock Band 3-compatible Squier Stratocaster guitar for use in the game's Pro Mode.

The guitar will be available on March 1, 2011 for $279.99. Pre-orders will begin on January 1st. Quite a long wait for the stringed axe. Gamers that want to get in on some Pro guitar action in 2010 will be able to pick up the button-clad MadCatz peripheral next Tuesday for $150.

Rock Band 3 was released on October 26 for the PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, and DS. If you're curious about Harmonix's latest, you can read Shacknews' review.

I gotta say, $279.99 seems really reasonable for the technology involved in this guitar, coupled with the fact that it's a real guitar!

Great to actually have a date and a price for this thing!

Ya, that is actually far under what I expected the price to be. Very good news!

Same. I thought it would be over $300, perhaps even $400+.

I'll probably end up getting it, and using it as a midi interface.

Seriously! All the speculation that it wouldn't be out until next summer and it would cost $400 or more were starting to convince me not to worry about it... Now my only quandary is whether or not to go ahead and get the Mustang to tide me over for now... I'm leaning toward yes, because 4 months is a long time.
