Weekend Discussion

For those Shack users around the world who celebrate the spooky holiday, Happy Halloween. If you don't celebrate the holiday, remember that AMC is premiering the new series The Walking Dead on Sunday. (Check your local listings.)

According to some reviews I've read, the changes made to the show (versus the comic series) work quite well and make it a little more dramatic and suspenseful. We'll be the judge of that, thank you very much!

It's sad that the first episode leaked online. That means some of the hardcore fans won't be tuning in. AMC only ordered six episodes. If the viewers aren't there, it will be canceled. I urge you, if you have the means, to tune in anyway. Let's not kill it yet. (Unless it turns out to be terrible.)

  • Alice O'Connor: I probably shan't be playing anything this weekend but I did pick up The Ball and Bloody Good Time this week and should probably give them a whirl.
  • Brian Leahy: I've got so many games piling up that I'm just going to tell you what my options are: Enslaved, Fable III, Killzone 3 beta, DJ Hero 2, Rock Band 3, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2, Fallout: New Vegas, StarCraft 2, Halo: Reach. I have no idea what I'll end up actually playing, though.
  • Garnett Lee: I'll be playing some Fable 3 co-op to complete my take on the game and then spending the weekend "Kinecting" with my 360.
  • Xav de Matos: Now that I have my PC keyboard issue sorted (Thanks, Shack Community!), I'll try to get some time with Modern Warfare 2, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, Cryostasis, and The Ball. Also, there's more Killzone 3 beta in my future, for sure.
  • Jeff Mattas: I'll be learning how to tickle the pro-ivories in Rock Band 3. Also, Fable 3, more Super Meat Boy, and New Vegas. And a big bag of candy.

Xav de Matos was previously a games journalist creating content at Shacknews.
