Battlefield: Bad Company 2 PC Patch Brings Balance and Tuning Changes

20
DICE has released a new patch for the PC version of Battlefield: Bad Company 2, which is now available. There are a few ways to grab the patch and it will depend on which version of the game you run.

  • Steam Users - You should have been automatically patched.
  • Non-Steam Users - The game's updater should prompt you to update OR you can download the patch manually.

Some of the major changes are:

  • Improved Hit registration made through several fixes and some of the hitboxes themselves have been changed. This will increase the accuracy of guns.
  • The 2 second immunity when spawning/being revived will now be immediately removed either by firing, zooming, or any movement (move, crouch, jump). A Spawning Player can still orient passively in the Game World.
  • Reduced all weapon damage to the MCOM by 50%.
The full patch notes can be viewed at the official Battlefield: Bad Company 2 blog. How do you feel about the patch? Did they nerf anything you relied on to win? Let us know in the comments.

My understanding is the inability to actually use SPECACT weapons on PC despite their listing makes it impossible to achieve certain insignias - and this was totally ignored? Sad face.

Console pay-for DLC that's nothing more than different skins for a few regular guns and the classes.

I didn't know they made it into the PC version.

They didn't officially. However, they were available on some hacked/bugged servers it seems.
