Torchlight Celebrates One-Year Anniversary with 50% off the PC Version [Update]

[Update: 11:05am] Shack user acare84 reminds us you can activate your Torchlight serial code via Steam, which should give you access to both the PC and Mac version of Torchlight via SteamPlay.

Shacknews tested this method with an older serial code received by purchasing the game on Runic's website, on a new Steam account. It did work for us; however, some users report issues with this method and that serial codes are appearing to be invalid.

[Original Story] Torchlight has been on sale so many times, we should all own three copies of the game at this point. Well, guess what? The action-RPG has been discounted for a limited time once again.

To celebrate the game's 1-year anniversary, developer Runic Games is offering the dungeon crawler for $10 (50% off) on PC from now until October 29 at 8AM PT. As Runic does not sell the Mac version directly, that version of the game is still priced at $20 on Steam, sadly.

Non-PC gamers should remember that Torchlight is still planned for release on the PS3 and Xbox 360. If you do own a PC and you still haven't checked out Torchlight, we've got one simple question to ask: "Why do you hate fun?"

If anybody who enjoys the action rpg genre doesn't own this game, you are doing it wrong.
