Shank and DeathSpank Now Available on PC
by Brian Leahy, Oct 27, 2010 11:40am PDTElectronic Arts has released Shank and DeathSpank, previously only available on the PS3 and Xbox 360, on the PC.
Both were released through the EA Partners publishing program. Shank was developed by Klei Entertainment and DeathSpank was created by Hothead Games.The games are now available through Steam and support Steamworks features like Achievements, Steam Cloud, and Leaderboards. Like the console versions, both titles support local-only co-op.

A Mac version of DeathSpank is also in development and Hothead is open to PC and Mac versions of the DeathSpank sequel "Thongs of Virtue."

As for the gameplay mechanics, it's different from normal conventions in that there's no spell tree; weapons have built-in spells, so you have to use a specific weapon to use a specific spell. The skill tree is done via Hero cards, which is an interesting twist. I'll have to play more to see if it works out in the end.

When a game is only $15 to begin with, I feel like real jerk for saying "If it was $5...", but, if it was $5 I might consider it. It's not particularly enthralling.
The art direction is awesome though, more of that please.
