Morning Discussion

I sort of survived the Twin Peaks Weekender. Mostly, anyway. I briefly had my brain give up and stop recognising that strangers in the street did indeed have the regulation four limbs but that sort of thing is fairly natural, isn't it? Yes, I thought so.

Twin Peaks was, of course, fabulous. There are highs and there are lows but on the whole it's so very wonderful and a real treat to see on a huge screen, surrounded by hundreds of fans in excellent costumes, pumped full of pie and coffee. I only wish I had the sense of my chum, who fell asleep after the fourteenth episode--a fine breaking point and mini-conclusion. Last night I slept for fourteen-ish hours and suspect part of my mind is still in another world. I can do video games, though. Let's do some video games. All together now...

      10/25/10 Update:

      Took a week off!

Coming down to the end. Ro8 games are due this week by Saturday 10/30. If we can get them done sooner, I can advance to RO4 and begin to wrap it up soon. There has been one game played already for this round as well. I believe we will be casting on Thursday so if you're playing and want to get casted let me know.

This round is still a BO3. Next round begins the Best of 5 with the finals being a BO7.

Start placing your bets now on the finals match.

      Updated Bracket link:

(Something is going on with the tournament bracket site and it's not reporting the actual # of games played but the winners are correct)

        Attn JamieJme:

Were you serious about the guest pass stuff? Did you get one? I think I still have a second one if you can't find someone to give you one.

If I play directly after work, it's 7pm EST. I think that's something absurd like 3AM GMT?

Hmmm, maybe we'll have to play when I wake up one day? Or put it off until Saturday? What works?

Thanks - I'm good for now though. I haven't had to use one for every game. If I time it carefully - I can get two rounds out of a single pass.

I still have all the ones from the SSL pool so if there's any need for them give me a buzz.

Hah, I still like the fact you thought I got to the Ro8 without owning the game at all. Maybe it is my uber map hacks!

PH has given me another pass so I'm good. Looks like it will have to be saturday/sunday though. Not massively keen on saturday as got halloween parties etc. Will SM

Ro4 and your post summary still mentions getting brackets done and prizes confirmed? how about updates to the tournament or something?

Future tournaments should be held over the course of a few days, rather than several weeks. That should be more conducive for everyone to play their matches instead of losing interest.

Otherwise lots of fun so far.

I wanted to try to do that but it just won't work with a tournament format here.

That's the problem with the starleague....it died off for a bit, and now it's tough trying to resurrect it from the dead, but it's coming along

At the same time, you dont have all the shackers in one room so you cant force them to do all matches in one day. people have jobs, families, etc

If it was finished in a week I would have been disqualified many times over, and I'm sure a lot of other shackers would have been too.
