World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Will be Sold Digitally with Pre-Loading

29
For the first time in World of Warcraft's history, an expansion will be sold digitally day-and-date with the retail release with the December 7 release of the Cataclysm expansion.

Announced at BlizzCon 2010 by Blizzard CEO Mike Morhaime, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm will also be available for pre-loading similar to StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty. Players will be able to pre-order the game directly from Blizzard and its Battle.net store and be ready to play as soon as the servers are turned on at 12AM PST on December 7.

More details will be released soon, but if you're tired of waiting in line and dealing with retail stores to get going on your expansion play, consider going digital. That is, unless you're opting for the Collector's Edition.
