by Garnett Lee, Oct 22, 2010 11:15pm PDTAs we reported, Rock Band 3 plans to waste no time getting the downloadable content going with 12 tracks from the Doors set to drop next week when the game releases. In a press release today, Harmonix and MTV Games announced plans to giveaway three of those songs free for a limited time as a thank you to fans for buying the game and playing online.
From Oct. 26 through Nov 2 "Light My Fire," "Riders on the Storm," and "Touch Me" along with their respective Pro Guitar and Pro Bass add-ons will be available for free through the in-game Rock Band 3 music store. The other nine songs will be available for purchase at the same time as a pack with standard five-button bass and guitar, drums, Pro Drums, keys, Pro Keys, and harmonies along with a free expansion for Pro Guitar and Pro Bass. Beginning Nov 2 all of the tracks will revert to normal pricing, available individually or as a 12 track bundle that will run $14.99 USD, £7.49 UK, €10.99 EU on PS3/XBox or 1500 Wii Points.
