Billy Joel DLC Coming to Rock Band Starting in December
With tracks beginning to roll out on December 14, Rock Band 3 will welcome the "most-loved songs" found in the famed artists catalog, in both standard keyboard and "Pro Key" difficulties.
Originally against the inclusion of his work in a video game, Joel decided to join the ranks of the army of artists included in Harmonix' franchise after an Entertainment Weekly critic took jabs at him, the artisit told USA Today [via Plastic Axe].
I've never allowed my music to be used in a game before," but an Entertainment Weekly review of NBC's The Office changed his mind. Alluding to an episode in which characters mention a Rock Band featuring Billy Joel, "the critic wrote something like, 'God forbid that ever should happen.' So I called my people and said, 'Get me (on) that Rock Band game.' Then I wrote the critic, saying that every time I get a check, I'll give him a little nod.
No word on pricing, and the fact that Harmonix states Joel's tracks will "begin to roll out" on December 14 implies that the 10-included tracks may not be available in a single pack. Shacknews has contacted MTV Games for clarification.

1 really good song does not make a great album. you like BJ that's fine. i find him boring with the odd exception (i'd much rather see some more Steely Dan for challenging instrumental parts). plus his reasons for wanting to be a part of this genre (so he can stick it to a critic like he's still relevant) is in fact, very lame.
at this point i'm honestly wondering why they didn't stick the subtitle 'Baby Boomer Edition" to RB3's tag line.-
Oh get the hell over yourself. You sound like a dirty hipster desperately scratching for relevance. The new RB has a better setlist than the last two combined, because they are FUN songs. They aren't picked for difficulty, or for cred, they are picked for FUN. And that's how it should be.
