The Witcher 2 Console Release Uncertain; PC Version on Track for March

19
CD Projekt's Tomasz Gop told Eurogamer that the now "potential" console versions of The Witcher 2 will not be day and date with the PC version, if they are released at all.

News of the game's existence cropped up in September 2009 with a leak of some early footage, which prompted CD Projekt to announce the project along with its intention to release the game on consoles.

In March, CD Projekt's PR representative clarified that the engine used for The Witcher 2 is "capable of console development," but that the team was "focusing on the PC version at this time." In May, CD Projekt tweeted that it "always wanted and still plans to develop The Witcher 2 on consoles - nothing has changed.

While the company has historically been cagey about the console versions, this is the first time they have been referred to as a "potential" release. Thankfully, the PC version of The Witcher 2 is still on track for a March 2011 release.

such a rare occurrence these days for the PC version of game to get certain release status whilst the console version(s) stay in limbo.
