The PC specifications for Call of Duty: Black Ops have been released by Direct2Drive (via Eurogamer). Is your PC up to the task?

Minimum System Requirements

OS: Windows Vista/XP/7
Processor: Intel Core2 Duo E6600 or AMD Phenom X3 8750 or better
Memory: 2GB
HDD: 12GB
Video: Shader 3.0 or better 256MB NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT/ATI Radeon X1950Pro or better
Sound: DirectX 9.0c-compatible
DirectX: 9.0c

The PC version of Call of Duty: Black Ops will use Steamworks for DRM and will sort of support dedicated servers through an exclusive partnership with GameServers.com. It will be released on November 9 for the PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. Like Modern Warfare 2, the PC version will be $60.

    You have to have a route to the Internet in order to get to the authentication servers. That isn't always so feasible for LAN parties (yes, they still exist). Every QuakeCon gets hit by an Internet outage that means people can't play many Steam multiplayer games because they can't get to the auth servers.
