Former Assassin's Creed Creative Director Patrice Desilets Heading New THQ Studio
by Alice O'Connor, Oct 19, 2010 5:43am PDTUbisoft Montreal veteran Patrice Désilets, who served as creative director on Assassin's Creed and Assassin's Creed 2 as well as Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, will be joining THQ to form a new development studio, the publisher announced today.
Désilets will join THQ's new Montreal studio next summer, first hiring a new team focused on developing new development properties.
"Simply put, we can't wait for Patrice to join THQ," THQ executive VP of core games, Danny Bilson, said. "Patrice brings a passion for games rich with action-packed sequences, gripping characters and cinematic flair, and we're all looking forward to having him and his newly formed team develop an all new franchise with us."
Desilets left Ubisoft Montreal in June, apparently after finishing work on Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, which is due out in November. Ubisoft then stated that "With his role on project essentially done, Patrice Désilets has decided to take a creative break from the industry and is no longer working on Assassin's Creed Brotherhood."
