Angry Birds Released for Android for Free
"Why is Angry Birds free on Android? We want to make Angry Birds available for as many people as possible," explains the press release from developer Rovio.
To get in on the bird-flinging action on Android, users will have to own "second generation Android devices and upwards, with Android platform 1.6 or later. Your device needs to support OpenGL ES 2.0. QVGA display resolution is not supported currently, but we will add support for QVGA devices soon."
The game should appear in the Android Marketplace shortly, if not already, but interested parties can snag it now by going to GetJar on your device. Be warned, GetJar is having a bit of a traffic overload problem and your download experience may vary.
The game is also headed for the PlayStation 3 and PSP this fall as a PlayStation Mini.

if they make another metric fuck-tonne, it will give the android platform the boost it needs for devs to see they can make money off it as well as on the iphone. i hope it does well! again.

Plus, once the Chrome store takes off, I think lots of developers that are on the fence will go for it. 95% of the profit going to the developer.
