Fable 3 is only a few short weeks away. Launching on October 26, the latest in the Xbox-exclusive franchise features the direct descendants of your Fable 2 characters battling for control of Albion. If you played Fable 2, that is.

The launch trailer for the game featured above, highlights what an Albion-based revolution would look like. According to Albion law, revolutions can only take place at 1/3 the normal speed of all other regular activities. Clear your calendar, folks. This is going to take a while.

I was fooled into thinking Fable 2 would be a good game. There is absolutely no way I will buy Fable 3 until it has a 100 metacritic average score.

I'm inclined to agree, I loathed Fable 2. For an RPG it relied far too heavily on silly social gimmicks and far too little on elements that actually impacted gameplay. The level / stat / combat / magic structures were all far too shallow for me, and the world felt incredibly boxed / linear.

I played through it from start to finish and hated almost every minute :(

        I agree completely.
Stop making fart simulators and instead make a *fully* open world.
This on the rails pathway crap should not be in a game like this, a complete interconnected world with a proper *map* is also mandatory, yet they make people remember farts and the player execute QTE ad naseum. Its not funny, stop it.

Honestly, I'm expecting the gameplay in Fable 3 to be kind of bad, on the easy and gimmicky side. But I like their sense of humor and style and will play it anyway. I'm guess I'm way past the point of expecting Lionhead games to redefine gaming or anything like that.

Fable I is the first game I ever returned for resale. In fact, it's the only one I've ever returned. I had to, as a form of protest. Molyneiux is a hype machine, but this game is pedestrian by RPG standards.

I played Fable II, but only after buying it for less than $20. It was ok.
