The closing concert at BlizzCon 2010 will be headlined by Tenacious D (Jack Black and Kyle Gass), which will take the stage at the end of the two-day event on Saturday, October 23.

The performance will include "the debut of new, soon-to-be-legendary songs," according to Blizzard. BlizzCon 2009's concert featured Ozzy Osbourne.

Though the show is sold out, interested viewers will be able to see a steam of BlizzCon events, presentations, and the Tenacious D concert through DirecTV pay-per-view or a paid Internet stream.

Am I missing something? What is the appeal of this "band"?

I don't think so. I've never liked him in film, but I've enjoyed Tenacious D and I liked him in Brutal Legend.

"The Metal" is a surprisingly decent song in its own right.

You should listen to Tenacious D (the album) in its entirety. It's full of fantastic songs. They're a great comedic band in that they are still capable of making great music.

Yeah in the course of being a parody of heavy metal music, they wind up making a pretty damn good album.

They use these things called instruments to play tones in certain sequences while someone sings. Some people find this appealing.

I wouldn't go as far as calling myself a fan, but I've enjoyed some of their work. The musical quality is good (at least from what I've heard of them), and I appreciate that they're not all serious.
