Dead Space Ignition Releases Tomorrow, Free with Dead Space 2 Pre-Order
by Brian Leahy, Oct 11, 2010 11:40am PDTDead Space Ignition, the prequel to Dead Space 2, will be released tomorrow on the PlayStation Network and on Wednesday on Xbox Live Arcade. Ignition has not been announced for PC, though Dead Space 2 will get a PC release.
The game features three hacking mini-games and will be available for $5 / 400 MS Points, but pre-order customers that reserve a copy of Dead Space 2 at "participating US retailers" will receive a download voucher for the prequel.
"Dead Space Ignition will show fans what happens in the hours leading up to the beginning of Dead Space 2 with gameplay that is fast-paced and accessible," explains executive producer Steve Papoutsis. "It's a fun way to dig deeper into the fiction, while allowing core fans to give Isaac Clarke an edge in Dead Space 2."
Dead Space 2 will be released on January 25, 2011 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. The PlayStation 3 version will be available as a limited edition, which includes a HD version of the Wii's Dead Space Extraction.
