[Update: 09:59] We've now received several screenshots and a trailer, plus word that X-Men Arcade will be released some time this year.

[Original] That wishing well you've thrown countless quarters into really is magic, because over the weekend it was revealed that Konami's classic X-Men arcade game is finally coming to the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network.

During a Marvel presentation at the 2010 New York Comic-Con, a trailer featuring the classic 1992 "beat-em-up" was unveiled, highlighting a few details for the upcoming port.

The X-Men arcade game on the XBLA and PSN will feature six-player "drop-in" online multiplayer, "custom matchups," and multiple difficulty settings. Based on footage shown, the game will retain its original look style--no leather clad X-Persons, thankfully. In the X-Men arcade game, players can take control of mutant superheroes Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, Nightcrawler, Colossus, and Dazzler.

No release date has been revealed; however, according to Joystiq, Marvel Games' T.Q. Jefferson said the game would be ported to the two platforms "soon."
