Minecraft Halloween Update Detailed

Minecraft will be getting a Halloween themed update on October 31, according to a blog post by developer Notch.

The feature list is written "in character" for the Halloween update, players should expect a new realm for fast travel, new monsters, torches that burn out, fishing, multiplayer features, and more.

In company news, Notch continues to make progress in setting up his company and the group has interviewed two artists, spoke with lawyers about paperwork, and failed to get an office. Such is the high-flying life of indie game development.

I was on the bus in Stockholm today and overheard two people talking about Minecraft using the CryTek engine in the future. Sounds pretty cool but I don't know what their connection to the dev(s) are.

I love that more games are doing these kinds of updates. I appreciate how World of Warcraft has real world holiday equivalents in game. TF2 did it with Halloween last year, I'd like to see more follow suit.
