Tony Hawk: Shred to Release on October 26

Tony Hawk's second peripheral-based outing will be coming on October 26 as Tony Hawk: SHRED grinds its way into stores on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii.

The game, developed by Robomodo, is the follow-up to Tony Hawk: RIDE, which featured a proprietary skateboard peripheral with a variety of sensors for a more immersive gameplay experience. Whether or not it actually worked is up to you, I suppose, but it definitely wasn't for me.

Gamers that pre-order at Toys R' Us can snag an exclusive board peripheral that sports some Birdhouse graphics.

Damn this just reminds me how much I miss good Tony Hawk games. You know, I played through Proving Ground a while back and actually enjoyed it? I'm not sure if that is because it was legitimately better than the previous handful of titles, or if it was because I was subconsciously transferring my memories of joy from the early titles into my experience.
