NASCAR The Game 2011 Officially Announced by Activision

Following a report from last week that the NASCAR license had gone over to Activision, the publisher has confirmed that Eutechnyx will be developing NASCAR The Game 2011.

Players can choose to play as themselves or as one of the sport's real-world drivers as they battle it out for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship. Each pro driver has the AI characteristics of his or her real world counterpart, setting the stage for intense rivalries played out on the track. Damage is meticulously detailed and multi-car wrecks are the most extreme ever experienced in an officially licensed racing game. From the 22 real world tracks to full pit stop strategy action, NASCAR The Game 2011 captures the real atmosphere, sense of speed and spectacle that embodies NASCAR. Players can even feel the thrill of a win with the interactive celebration mode.

Sixteen players will be supported for multiplayer and driving, both offline and online, will earn the player NASCAR experience poitns, which are used to unlock items in the game. Eutechnyx is a UK-based studio responsible for the Big Mutha Truckas series, the Pimp My Ride game, and several serious racing titles.

Video footage of the game will be preimered on October 3 on "NASCAR RaceDay" on the SPEED channel at 10am EST. The game is set for a February 2011 release on the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii.
