Nintendo Confirms Wii Remote Plus with Built-in MotionPlus

Nintendo has confirmed the existence of the Wii Remote Plus--which has MotionPlus sensor built-in--at its press conference in Japan. The device was spotted on advance box-art for the upcoming Nintendo-published, MotionPlus-requiring FlingSmash last week.

The box-art was removed and Nintendo told Shacknews it had "nothing to announce at this time," when asked for comment. The Wii Remote Plus will presumably be bundled with FlingSmash, which releases on November 7.

"For the convenience of the users, Nintendo is developing Wii Remote Plus, which integrates Wii Remote and Wii MotionPlus," said Nintendo president Satoru Iwata (via IGN). "We will announce the details of this controller on our web sites and through other media at some later date."

Sorry, Nyko. Good idea, though.

            And whose fault is that?

Who churned out mountains of shovelware hoping to cash in on the install base? Did publishers think that consumers wouldn't catch on and stop trusting Wii games that don't have a certifiable track record of excellence? (First part)
