Mega Man Legends 3 Project Announced for 3DS

4
A third entry in the Mega Man 3D action-RPG series Mega Man Legends is in development for Nintendo's 3DS handheld, Capcom announced at the Nintendo Conference 2010 today.

Details on Mega Man Legends 3 Project are scarce for now, with Capcom only issuing a brief announcement, the logo and a video starring series veteran Keiji Inafune, explaining his thoughts heading into development.

"It has been my dream to make Legends 3 and I'm really confident that it's going to take off," Inafune said, "but I want to make sure that it isn't just thrown together and rushed out the door. I want it to be really, really good."

Infaune also cryptically mentions using "a new style of game development" on Legends 3 to make a game for the fans. Capcom teases that "fans will have an opportunity to be part of the development process like never before as they interact directly with the team."

Further details are promised at the New York Comic-Con, which runs October 8-10. The 3DS is due out in North America in March, Nintendo revealed at the conference.

They haven't aged exactly well from the PS1, but yeah. Great adventure games, great characters (sup Tron Bonne) and a bit more of an interesting premise than "Dr. Light builds robots and they go bad except for 1*"

They were good action RPGs before there were good action RPGs (well, on a console anyways). They've got their own charms and character as well though, and IMO are some of my favorite Megaman games (was also the first time Megaman was in 3D IIRC, well, at least state side). The controls are a little clunky and the visuals haven't aged very well but I say they're still worth a run through. Do be warned, MML2 has a water dungeon that would make Zelda: OoT fans cry.

a lot of people haven't played them, but Mega Man Legends is a lot of fun, if you can get past the controls. Plus, I don't find the graphics that dated, to me it seems more stylized.

      No PS3 or 360 :(

Still should be cool on the 3DS, but man... I want to play a HD screen and big.

Honestly, I was hoping for a PS3 release too.

3DS is fine though, as long as they find a good control scheme for it. (I'm also hoping they find better voice actors)

        Also, sorry Inafune, but: eeeeeeehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Woo-shit. I'm excited for this. Megaman Legends was the -only- spin-off (besides the X series) that I gave a shit about.
