A new trailer for the upcoming action-adventure Castlevania: Lords of Shadow has been released and it outlines the game's storyline, characters, and multitude of gameplay elements. Also, it looks really good.

Developed by MercurySteam in association with Kojima Productions, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is set to be a perfect entry point for those who have yet to experience the franchise that is nearly 25 years old.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is slated to hit the Xbox 360 and PS3 on October 5 in North America and October 7 in Europe.

This game just keeps looking better and better. I went from extremely pessimistic and apathetic to very excited and optimistic on this one. At the very least the art design is amazing and I want to just walk around and at the levels they've created. Unless reviews are just awful.. I think this one is already on my list.

The most awesome thing about this video is that they used music from the SNES Castlevania 4 for the intro. If they are trying to embody the awesomeness of that game, then I am in hook, line, and sinker.

So what is this game, another God of War clone but set in the Castlevania universe? I was hoping for more of an open world RPG. Ever since Castlevania 2, castlevania just hasn't been the same for me.

This looks like Dante's Inferno mixed in with Castlevania. The only thing that could POSSIBLY save this would be a decent story line...and the game is 19.99. At that point I'd buy it. But not for the $60 they plan on dumping the game in our laps at.

Has there been any solid indication yet if this game has a fair amount of exploration elements? I'm still wondering if it's going to be more of a Castlevania themed God of War clone or Castlevania's Metroid Prime

I'm assuming the former, but I wish someone would make the latter

I've never played a Castlevania game, and never enjoyed God of War type gameplay - but these visuals look amazing to me. I think I'd want to play through it for the cutscenes alone.
