PlayStation 3 System Update 3.50 Released, Bringing Griefer Reporting & Blu-Ray Support 3D

7
Blu-Ray 3D playback support has arrived for the PlayStation 3 today in the promised system software update 3.50, along with a few other features.

As the update notes detail, the 3.50 update adds the option to file 'Grief Reports' against players to accuse them of being dashed unsporting. It also adds Facebook functionality for enabled games--a feature certain to delight curmudgeonly and anti-social types.

Watching Blu-Ray 3D movies will naturally require a 3D display and glasses.

The update is available for download now through the PS3's System Update feature.

as cool as 3d is, wearing another pair of bulky shutter glasses on top of my perscription glasses just isn't any fun for longer than 10min. i will bite once they get rid of the glasses.

Toshiba is apparently very nearly ready to sell exactly that.

      3d TVs without glasses.

      Magnets, am I right?

Impressions have not been good for the 3DTVs not requirng glasses, mainly the effect isn't as pronounced and the viewing angle is horrible. It has a sweet spot just like the 3DS does, but the 3DS is for a single person to use, unlike a 50" HDTV which must be viewed from all angles in a room.

Also, vassili, the Panasonic 3D glasses are awesome, I have perscription glasses as well, and they do not touch like the Samsung or theatre ones, and are completely adjustable to make it comfortable. Panasonic's glasses and 2D image quality was the reason I went with the VT25.

Can't wait to watch some 3D Blu-Rays tonight, no need to spend $400 on a player.

They also need a fucking standard. No one needs another format war.

No kidding. I am tempted to take the leap, but not until I'm sure I won't have a useless piece of shit on my hands in 6 months to a year.
