Tokyo Game Show 2010 Breaks Attendance Records, Tentative 2011 Schedule Revealed
by Xav de Matos, Sep 20, 2010 11:40am PDTTokyo Game Show organizer CESA revealed (via Andriasang) its 2010 event saw record-breaking crowd flood the Makuhari Messe venue in Chiba, Japan. For the first time ever, TGS broke the 200,000 attendee mark, brining in 207,647 people during the four day event. Last year the event saw a dip in attendees, grouping 185,030 over the course of four days.
CESA also revealed possible dates for next year's event. TGS 2011 will take place either from September 15 through the 18 or from September 16 through the 18.
Organizers have yet to decide whether or not to cut one of the two business days from the schedule, as attendance for the private portion of the show was slightly down versus last year. One less day for media only? If it happens, expect a lot of previews featuring how long we had to wait in line to play a ten minute demo in 2011.
