Gran Turismo 5 Dynamic Weather Revealed in TGS Media Blast

Polyphony Digital has unveiled a whole host of new Gran Turismo 5 information at the Tokyo Game Show, showing everything from a dynamic weather system and new versions of old GT tracks to a drivable amphibious car and Volkswagen Samba Bus.

"Factors like temperature, pressure and humidity are all calculated to help simulate weather conditions that change dynamically," Polyphony explains, which will naturally affect car performance.

Veteran Gran Turismo series tracks Trial Mountain Circuit and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca will return "rebuilt from scratch to drastically improve their quality," says PD.

Gran Turismo 5 is due out exclusively for PlayStation 3 on November 5. No, really.

I wish they'd put a Ridge Racer style arcade mode in this game. The graphics look incredible but I just don't like the simulation style gameplay. How hard could it be to add a mode where the cars moved at triple the standard speed and had much less realistic handling so the stuck the the road on the corners?

    GT5 moves a lot faster than past Gran Turismo games. I remember seeing Gran Turismo 2 a decade ago and seeing street cars racing looking like a 25 MPH Sunday drive. I personally thought it was a problem with perspective; GT5 feels a lot closer to real world perspective as far as car motion goes.
