Demon's Souls-dev Reveals Latest Title, 'Project Dark'

7
The team of masochists who developed 2009's award-winning Demon's Souls has revealed its next project, currently titled Project Dark.

Revealed during Sony's TGS 2010 media briefing, details on the Namco Bandai-published Project Dark are slim. According to Joystiq, the game appears to have "some kind of cooperative element." Originally the game was believed to be PlayStation 3 exclusive; however, the official site for the upcoming From Software title also lists the game as an Xbox 360 title.

In the same day, From Software revealed it would revive its cult-hit franchise Steel Battalion with publisher Capcom, exclusively for Microsoft's Kinect.

Both Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor and Project Dark--which is the game's working title--are expected to launch in 2011.

    Most excellent!

From is quickly becoming one of my favorite developers.

(Wonder if we'll see any word on the upcoming Armored Core 5 as well.)

I wish they would either remake, or create a sequel to, Chromehounds, but with easier gameplay, and the ability to play multiplayer without the massive campaign that cycled every month (even thought that was awesome, but I could never get into a group, so it wasn't too much fun for me) and, robots/mechs that move a little faster. The designs and ideas in that game were great, but it was not implemented very well. I did not really like the Armored Core series, due to the fact that the single player was always horribly short, usually deviod of story, and weren't all that fun. You basically had to make your own fun with how you moved around the map.

Also, how was Demons Souls? People are saying that it was a innovative game, but I never heard about what made it so innovative and popular. I wanted to try it, but have read mixed reviews.

You either enjoy the difficulty or you loathe it. The innovation is all in the multiplayer, where players can help or hunt you.

you will die over and over and over again, and never stop playing, because the game is awesome.

        or you'll loathe it -^
