Devil May Cry Rebooted By Ninja Theory in 'DmC'
by Alice O'Connor, Sep 15, 2010 6:39am PDTHeavenly Sword and Enslaved developer Ninja Theory has joined with Capcom to co-develop a reboot of the over-the-top action series Devil May Cry, titled DmC: Devil May Cry and announced today at the Tokyo Game Show.
Capcom promises that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 title "will retain the series' signature mix of sword and gunplay but add additional weapons, all new powers and a revitalised gameplay system as players encounter the game's devilish mix of enemies and navigate the rich, interactive environment."
Capcom's demon-slaying series began in 2001 with Devil May Cry and spawned three sequels, most recently Devil May Cry 4 in 2008. The original DMC was executive-produced by Shinji Mikami, who it was revealed today is working on Grasshopper Manufacture's own absurd new demon-slaying action game Shadows of the Damned.
